Supporting the Development of Care Farming

Care Farming Development CIC supports the development of Care Farming by providing consultation for people who are setting up as care farms to find a viable market. Everyone thinks that care farming is wonderful, but the reality of turning a great idea into a sustainable income stream can be a real challenge.

Often, successful Care Farms adopt a ‘cocktail funding’ approach, some from grant/project funding, some from individuals paying a daily rate and some from social enterprise activities such as tea room, produce, making goods for sale or offering a service.

Julie White and Nick Platt of Staffordshire Care Farming Development CIC have over 10 years experience of Care Farming and are accredited SFEDI business advisors and Social Enterprise advisors. They have an informal, friendly way of working that is focused and gets results.

Consultation is offered at their office in Sudbury, South Derbyshire or on the farm. The usual cost is £400 per day. This can sometimes be paid for by grants or projects - ask if interested!
